Technical Writing
Regolo is Francis Turton, a technical writer with over twenty years’ experience producing documentation for the computer software and hardware industries in Cambridge, England. I can tackle complex and involved subject matter, whether it’s technological, scientific, or academic. If I don’t already know about your company’s field of operations, I’m keen to learn.
My specialism is software developer documentation. As a coder, I understand the terminology and the practices of software engineering. I can meet subject matter experts half way.
I have expertise with most standard technical writing tools and frameworks, including Flare, Oxygen, DITA, and FrameMaker.
I’m competent in graphic design, creation of technical diagrams, and page layout using CSS.
Translation
I have a first-class degree in French and German Studies from the University of Lancaster, and a Diploma in Translation from German to English. I offer translation services from French and German into English. I can also translate from Dutch.
Coding and Build Configuration
I’m a proficient programmer of Python, JavaScript, Perl, SQL, and XSL. If you need tools to convert and publish your documentation, I can write them!
I can help with the architecting and configuration of your documentation builds. I have extensive experience with build frameworks including Git, Jenkins, Bamboo, and the DITA Open Toolkit.
